Non-IHS/THO entities interested in conducting COVID-19 testing on Navajo Nation must complete a Testing Coordination Form for review and approval to ensure that all partners have agreed to a plan for education at the time of testing, proper specimen collection, timely case notification and contact tracing, and reporting results to the Navajo Epidemiology Center and the local case management team. COVID-19 testing recommendations for the Navajo Nation:
- Testing should be available to anyone seeking testing, including those without symptoms or exposures
- All close contacts should be tested 5 days after the last exposure. This applies to all close contacts, regardless of vaccination status and regardless of symptoms
- All close contacts should get tested immediately if COVID-19 symptoms develop during the 14 days after last exposure.
